Ryan Porter
Lower Onslow, NS
5'11", 205 lbs
19, Forward

Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to second year forward, Ryan Porter. In the convincing win over Woodstock he picked up one goal and a pair of helpers. Recording multi- point games has not been his game; however, its just reward for an unrelenting work ethic. He, and linemates, Craig Ryan and Tayler Read demonstrated shut-down at its best.

He got his hockey start in the West Colchester Cobra Association, working his way through to the Bantam level and a move to the Truro and Area Program. With the A Bearcats he experienced a Provincial Championship. In his second Midget season, he affiliated with the Newbridge Academy Gladiators, seeing action through the playoffs. He played the 2015-2016 season with the Steele Subaru AAA Midgets winning Provincials, Atlantics and gaining exposure at the Telus Cup. The 2016 Bearcat pick suited up for 36 games as a rookie, displaying a physical element which made the opposition aware when hes on the ice. Hes a natural leader who plays for the Logo on his jersey.

Tonight the Miramichi Timberwolves are at the RECC for a 7:00 start.

Saturday, the league leading South Shore Lumberjacks are in town for a 7:00 start against the Bearcats. Skate with the Bearcats to follow.

Next Wednesday, the Bearcats host the Yarmouth Mariners, 7:00 at the RECC. The Annual Teddy Bear Toss will be held that night.
