Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to third year Bearcat defenceman, Tyler Pyke. In Friday’s win over Yarmouth, he picked up three assists. He followed that with the OT winning goal, Saturday, while picking up a pair of assists, to boot. He skated miles on the rush and was rewarded. His two –way play and leadership clearly helped the Bearcats achieve this month.

The Spryfield native played two years with the Halifax Gulls Major Bantam squad. He followed this with three seasons of Midget, one with Dartmouth and two with Newbridge Academy Gladiators. During the 2014 – 2015 season he exposed an offensive flair, helping his team win Provincials, Atlantics and a trip to the Telus Cup. He was fourth round Bearcat pick in the 2014 draft and saw action in four games as a Bearcat affiliate. Now a veteran wearing a letter, he’s accepted the leadership role, leading by example.

CHANGING ROLES

On Thanksgiving morning the Bearcats will put away their sticks and put on the coaching caps or stripes to assist with the Novice Program at the Colchester Legion Stadium. Two cross – ice games will be played simultaneously from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Following the games, the Bearcats will skate with the players until noon. It’s hard to tell who’s more excited.

ON TAP

Tonight the Bearcats host the MHL’s hottest team, the Edmundston Blizzard, at the RECC, starting at 7:00 pm.
