Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Gavin Hart. Now a seasoned veteran entering post-Christmas play, he will look to be a major contributor the rest of the way. He and linemates Holden Kodak and Tanner Humber-Dredge have clicked since being united, being a threat every shift.
He came up through the Truro Minor Hockey Program to the Major Bantam level where he tallied 82 points in 61 games played over two seasons. Following one season of Midget with the Weeks Midgets (2016-2017) he moved on to the Bearcats. He’s now a third-year Bearcat, after spending all of last season with the Halifax Mooseheads. A Bearcat territorial pick by the Bearcats in 2017, as well as a Moosehead choice that year, he brings grit and a strong skill set to the table. Like the rest of the Bearcats, he’s looking for the startup.
PLAYER ACQUISITION
The Bearcats acquired the rights to 20-year-old, David Gagnon, a native of Halifax who played the last two years in the CCHL with the Carleton Place Canadians. Last year, the former Dartmouth Major Midget product picked up 28 goals and 32 assists with the Canadians. He was a 2017 Truro Bearcat Draft pick.
ON TAP
Hang on, it will be another week before the Bearcats play at home when the Yarmouth Mariners are at the RECC on the 16th, we think.
